Salehuddin Ahmed said this after the meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Economic Affairs and Government Procurement at the Cabinet Division meeting room of the Secretariat on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Army will expand the armament factory in the Chittagong region. For that, it had proposed to take 54.99 acres of land from Jalil Textile Mills for Tk 17 crore. A proposal was presented in the meeting for in-principle approval to hand over the land to the Bangladesh Army.

When asked about this, the Finance Advisor said, “They wanted to take it. However, we have proposed that it will not be given at a symbolic price. Now government land will not be given to any organization at a symbolic price. If you want to take the land, you will have to pay money. Because, if you give land at a symbolic price, it is not used properly. In many cases, even though 10 acres of land are needed, 100 acres of land is said to be needed due to the symbolic value.
